Instructions for baby and toddler canvas swing

Hanging instructions

baby and toddler swing can be mounted in doorways or/and on beams, ceiling joists, verandas, pergolas and swing stands or the like. Screw 2 screw-eyes approx. 500mm apart. To have the screw-eyes wider apart than the swing itself makes it swing straight. Make sure the holes in the eyes are facing forward so the carbine hook rolls in the eye instead of grinding. Adjust the height with the sliding ropelocks. The baby and toddler swing can be hung, with the rope provided, (with the swing down at the lowest for a toddler) at a height of up to 2.3 meters. For any higher extension ropes will be needed.

Always use the safety belt.
Check the ropes, hooks and eyes regularly for wear and tear. The sun breaks down the rope fiber in time. A safety surface under the swing is recommended.

6 months to 6 years

baby and toddler swing is suitable for a baby from when it's neck is strong enough, approximately 6 months. Always support your baby well with cushions etc. until your baby grows into the swing. Please remember a young baby should always be swung gently. Always use the safety belt.

Converting instruction

When your child is about the age of 2 1/2 the baby and toddler swing can be converted to a toddler version by untying the ropes below the bars at the front of the swing. While untied, slide legdivider off the front bar and tie it back with the safety belt. Tuck excess belt in under the seat. Reknot the ropes. This enables your child to get in unaided by sliding the front bar up, sitting in and sliding the bar down again.

baby and toddler swing can now be used as long as your child fits in, approximately 6 years depending on the size of the child (inside measurement 260x260x260).
In our experience families with more then one child the older children seem to be happy to hop into the baby version from behind holding the ropes (if it is hanging low enough), especially if they have used it as a baby. In that way it can be kept as a baby version until the youngest one is a toddler.

sunroof for baby and toddler swing

Roof Assembly

1. Assemble cross and square.

2. Put the canvas roof upside down on the floor or table.

3. Then put the cross on top of the canvas pointing to the corners, flat side up.

4. Then fit the square to the cross.

5. Tie ribbon around the corner crosses.

Putting on and taking off the baby swing sun roof and positioning the roof when putting in and taking baby out.

1. Insert two wooden doweling pins through the ropes that run down to the front bar of the swing 320mm below the knot. (These are stoppers to insure that the roof does not slide down in front of and frighten your baby.)

2. Insert two wooden doweling pins through the ropes that run down to the back bar of the swing 520mm below the knot. (These are stoppers to insure that the roof does not come down too low at the back knocking your baby's head.)

3. Place the sunroof between the side ropes, standing up with one side resting on the sidebars of the swing.

4. Place the front ropes so they run through the wooden v in the corners of the roof created by the frame. The roof needs to be above the wooden doweling pins.

5. Stretch the elastic loop over the two arms of the v so it locks the rope in. (Knob to the side.)

6. Place the back ropes in the v at the back corners of the roof, with the roof above the wooden doweling pins, and loop the elastics on.

Now, when the ropes are held in the v in the four corners of the roof with the elastics, you can slide the back and front of the roof up and down. To make it easier to put your baby in and out you can slide the back of the roof down and the front up.

Hanging instructions for child swing , with and without trapeze bar, and board swing

swings can be mounted in doorways or/and on beams, ceiling joists, verandas, pergolas and swing stands or the like. Screw 2 screw eyes or eyebolts approx. 500mm apart with the holes in the eyes facing forward. It is important to have the eyes facing forward because then the carbine hook will roll and not grind in the eye. Having the ropes going wider apart as they go up helps the swing to swing strait. Adjust the height with the sliding ropelocks. The swings can be hung from a height of 3 meters without extension ropes.

Check the ropes, hooks and eyes regularly for wear and tear. The sun gradually breaks down the fiber in all rope. A safety surface under the swing is recommended.

Instruction for extension ropes

The ropes provided for baby and toddler swing can reach 2.3m and child swings 3m. If you want to hang them higher you will need extension ropes. Instructions as follows.

Length of rope; Measure from the point were the swing is going to hang from down to a height you can walk under and you still can reach, add 0.5m for knots and multiply with 2.
Once you have the extra rope, divide it into two. Burn the ends if it is a synthetic rope.
Knot a loop at the ends. See fig.1.

Knot the rope around the neck of the screw eye or bolt. See fig 2. (Do not knot just in the eye as shown in fig .3 since the rope then will grind in the eye and wear out quicker.) Adjust the height with the top knot.

If it is more convenient for you to buy extension rope from us please contact us.
